GREAT LAKES VOTING

Andrea A.
Girard, OH
Andrea is a proud U.S. veteran and a single mother doing everything she can to create a stable home for her children. After years of moving from place to place during military service, this house is the first space her children have ever been able to truly call home.
But now, that stability is at risk. The roof is over 25 years old and visibly failing, especially over the garage, where it’s beginning to sag. The cost of a new roof is simply out of reach while living paycheck to paycheck, and Andrea has been searching for solutions while trying to remain hopeful.
Although it’s difficult for her to ask for help, Andrea knows her children deserve a safe, reliable place to grow. She applied to Covers 4 Others not just for repairs, but for peace of mind, security, and the ability to continue giving her children a home they can feel proud of.
Her service, strength, and commitment to her family make her story one of perseverance and heart and we are honored to share it.

Georgia W.
Canton, OH
Georgia W. is a devoted mother and grandmother who finds joy in reading books and spending time with her family. Her home, which is nearly 100 years old, is filled with memories — but it’s also in urgent need of help.
Five years ago, after a major storm, Georgia had her roof replaced by a company that delivered poor workmanship and used substandard materials. The company is now out of business, and the roof has since failed, resulting in serious water damage throughout the home.
Despite efforts to work with her insurance provider, the repairs were deemed ineligible for full coverage due to the nature of the faulty installation. Georgia is now facing extensive water intrusion, but she simply doesn’t have the financial means to replace the roof herself.
Receiving a new roof through Covers 4 Others would give Georgia the peace of mind she deserves and help protect the place she calls home.

Roy Brady Jr.
Akron, OH
Roy proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 22 years. Even after his military service ended, his mission to support his fellow veterans never stopped. Roy has walked across America—not once, but twice—to raise awareness for the challenges combat-wounded veterans face and to raise funds for organizations dedicated to helping them.
Locally, Roy continues to serve his community by visiting schools on Veterans Day and Memorial Day. He speaks to students about the meaning of service, sacrifice, and patriotism—ensuring the next generation understands the significance of honoring those who have served.
Now, Roy is the one in need of support. With an aging roof and limited resources, he’s facing the kind of home repair burden that many veterans experience after a lifetime of giving. A new roof would provide the safety and security he deserves.
Roy’s life of service—to his country, to veterans, and to his community—exemplifies the spirit of giving. This nomination is one small way to give back to someone who has spent decades putting others first.
