Ben W.
O'Fallon, MO

Ben West's home in O'Fallon, MO, is in dire need of repairs, with rotted fascia, soffits, and missing downspouts. His 30-year-old roof is well beyond its prime but doesn't qualify for an insurance replacement. Over the past 12 years, Ben has faced tremendous challenges, including the loss of his wife and battling lung cancer twice. These hardships have left him unable to maintain his home. Despite overcoming cancer, his health has taken a toll, making it difficult for him to manage repairs or deal with insurance companies. Ben's resilience and perseverance through these difficult times make him a deserving candidate for a free roof.

Bob and Kathy L.
Olathe, KS

Bob and Kathy, both retired teachers, have dedicated their lives to serving others. Throughout their careers, they poured their time and love into students and athletes, and in retirement, their generosity has only grown. They have opened their home to individuals in need of temporary housing, provided financial support to a friend for dentures, and consistently offered assistance to their elderly neighbors. Whether it's meals, tools, or their time, Bob and Kathy are always there to help. Now, living on a fixed income and facing an insurance company unwilling to cover the cost of a new roof due to age, they deserve a new roof from Aspen as a token of appreciation for all they have given to others.

Carmen B.
St. Peters, MO

Carmen, a dedicated cleaning lady at our church, has been in need of a new roof for some time. Despite her challenges, including being a single mom supporting her 15-year-old daughter on her own, Carmen remains selfless and generous. She even provides a room for another young woman attending college in town. Members of the church have been collecting extra shingles from other jobs in hopes of helping her, but they have yet to gather enough. Carmen's unwavering commitment to her family and community, despite her own needs, makes her a deserving candidate for a new roof.

Carmen G.
Grain Valley, MO

My mom lost our dad after 54 years together, and the loss has been incredibly difficult for her. She always depended on my dad for everything, and he was her rock, taking care of her throughout their life together. Now, without him, she is trying to navigate life on her own, relying solely on my dad’s social security.

Her roof is in desperate need of replacement, but with limited income, she is unable to afford the repairs. It would mean the world to her to receive this help—it would feel like a miracle, a way for her to believe that my dad is still looking out for her from heaven. This roof replacement would not only provide her with security but also give her comfort in knowing that my dad’s love and care continue on. Thank you for considering her for this much-needed support.

David F.
Kansas City, MO

David, my brother-in-law, is a 62-year-old lifelong resident of Kansas City. He’s never been married or had children, but he’s always been a good and kind-hearted person. Since October 2023, David has been battling cancer, and it’s been an incredibly difficult journey for him. Our family was already dealing with the loss of his mother in 2020, and now, as his full-time caregiver, I’ve been doing everything I can to support him through this challenging time.

I attend all his doctor appointments and do my best to encourage him to keep fighting, even when he feels like giving up. Just last week, he was feeling so discouraged that he considered stopping his medications, but thankfully, he’s decided to keep going and is back on his treatment plan.

David lives in a home that we own, but the roof is original from 1978 and is in desperate need of replacement. Unfortunately, with all the expenses related to his care, neither he nor I can afford to replace the roof. A new roof would provide David with a safe and comfortable home during this difficult time, giving him one less thing to worry about. Your help would mean the world to him and our family as we navigate this challenging chapter.

D'Marcus W.
St. Louis, MO

D'Marcus has faced unimaginable challenges, yet he shines with resilience every day. In 2022, his life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with Short Gut Syndrome, a condition caused by a bowel obstruction that led to the loss of 80% of his small intestines. After spending seven months in the hospital and undergoing multiple surgeries, D'Marcus fought hard to survive for the sake of his newborn son. However, during his hospitalization, a major storm hit the St. Louis area, causing severe damage to his home. The news was devastating, as his home holds deep sentimental value, being the place where he was raised by his father, who passed from colon cancer.

The storm left his house in disrepair, with roof damage leading to leaks and ultimately causing parts of the ceiling to collapse. Since his release from the hospital, D'Marcus has struggled to regain financial stability. His daily battle with his condition, which requires him to infuse a nutritional solution through an I.V. for 14 hours a day, makes it nearly impossible for him to address the critical repairs needed on his home.

D'Marcus's home is more than just a house; it's a legacy he wants to share with his son, just as his father did with him. Receiving a new roof would be life-changing, providing him with relief from yet another burden in his already challenging life. Despite all the hardships he's faced, D'Marcus continues to stand tall, and this opportunity would allow him to experience some much-needed peace and stability.

Elizabeth V. and John S.
Kirbyville, MO

Elizebeth and John are hardworking Americans who have recently faced significant financial difficulties. John dedicated six years of his life to serving our nation in the Air Force as a munitions systems journeyman and environmental engineer. Despite being deemed disabled, both John and Elizebeth have continued to work and fight through the daily challenges life throws their way.

Their home has suffered extensive damage from tree falls, wind, and hail, leading to large leaks in several areas. These ongoing issues have added to their struggles, making it increasingly difficult to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.

John and Elizebeth have shown incredible resilience and determination, but they now find themselves in need of a helping hand. They truly deserve a blessing like this to ease their burden and ensure their home is secure once again. A new roof would provide them with the relief and stability they need to continue moving forward in their journey.

Eric L.
O'Fallon, MO

This nominee is a genuinely kind and considerate coworker who consistently looks out for others, always wearing a smile and rarely complaining. He’s someone who truly embodies the spirit of positivity and generosity. Despite his great attitude, he's been struggling with an unfair insurance situation that has only offered to cover a portion of his much-needed roof replacement. He’s been through the process twice with little success, making it a challenging and frustrating experience. Despite these obstacles, he still recommended Aspen to others, showing his unwavering support and positive outlook. A new roof would be a well-deserved gesture for someone who consistently puts others first, even in the face of personal challenges.

Heather W.
Chisholm, MN

My best friend and neighbor is in desperate need of a new roof. She owns her home but is on disability, leaving her with just enough money each month to cover her medications. After a severe thunderstorm last September, her roof began leaking, causing water to seep through the walls. The damage was so severe that she had to start sleeping at my house due to concerns about mold exposure. With limited financial resources, she has no way to address these issues on her own. Providing her with a new roof would not only restore her home but also give her peace of mind and a safe place to live again. Thank you for considering her.

Jackie C.
Ferguson, MO

Jackie, a 74-year-old retiree on a fixed income, has faced numerous challenges in recent years. Struggling with vision problems and chronic health issues, Jackie has also endured the loss of her mother, father, significant other, and even her beloved dog. The isolation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic only compounded her difficulties, forcing her to stay indoors more often and adding to her sense of loss.

Jackie's home, which she inherited from her parents, has become a significant burden. Her roof, over 30 years old, has led to a leak in the basement, and her insurance company has refused to cover it. With limited financial resources, she finds it difficult to keep up with basic living expenses, let alone costly repairs. Despite these challenges, Jackie continues to hold on to her home, even though she struggles to afford essentials like air conditioning.

Providing Jackie with a new roof would lift a tremendous burden off her shoulders, allowing her to focus on her health and well-being. It would also give her the peace of mind to enjoy her retirement in the home and neighborhood she has cherished for so long.

Jada M.
Kansas City, MO

I am nominating Jada because she exemplifies hard work and determination as a young first-time homebuyer. Achieving the "American Dream" at such a young age, Jada saved diligently and worked tirelessly to purchase her own home. However, in the year since becoming a homeowner, she has encountered the unexpected challenges that come with maintaining a home. Balancing these responsibilities while working full-time, and doing it all on her own without any help from her parents or anyone else, has been no small feat. A new roof would be a well-deserved gift that would alleviate some of the burdens Jada has faced and support her in maintaining the home she has worked so hard to achieve.

Jessica V.
Oak Grove, MO

Roof has been damaged by multiple storms and a large tree located on the property. A family of 4 with a special needs daughter, purchased a home 2 years ago and it has been issue after issue since the day they moved in. Fighting leaks and black mold (which damaged their daughter’s already fragile respiratory system), HVAC failure and total replacement, foundation issues with costly repairs, and more issues looming, a new roof has fallen to the back burner. This family goes above and beyond to give back to the community in Oak Grove- and I believe, the least I can do in nominate them for something so needed for their home

Julie P.
Gladstone, MO

Jule is a 95-year-old woman who has lived alone in the first house she and her husband purchased in the 1950s. This home holds a lifetime of memories, where she and her husband raised their two children and created countless moments cherished by their children and grandchildren. Since her husband's passing over 10 years ago, Jule has been determined to remain in the home they built together for as long as possible.

However, Jule now faces a serious challenge: her roof is failing, and it simply doesn't have much life left. Living on a fixed income, she manages to cover her basic household expenses, but the cost of a new roof, even with insurance, is far beyond her reach. Jule is in desperate need of a new roof to ensure she can continue to live safely and comfortably in the home that means so much to her and her family.

Justin D.
Kansas City, MO

Justin is an incredible person who has consistently put others before himself. I've known him since childhood, and he's always been someone who steps up when needed. When his boys were just starting school, Justin purchased his home on his own, determined to provide a stable and loving environment for them. Over the years, he has worked tirelessly in warehouses and big box stores, taking on any and every task to support his family.

Over six years ago, Justin made a significant sacrifice by taking in his sons' mother and her other six children, providing them with a safe and loving home when they had inadequate living space with other family members. Justin has done everything he can to ensure that these kids have what they need—from food on the table to school supplies, clothes, and shoes—always putting their needs before his own.

Last summer, Justin learned that his roof was in need of significant repairs after having a patch done over one of the bedrooms. While the patch was completed, the inspector noted that much of the roof required attention. However, with Justin's job at a warehouse in Riverside, there's little room in his budget to finance a new roof.

Justin has sacrificed so much for his family, always putting their well-being first. He is truly deserving of help to replace his roof, ensuring that the home he has worked so hard to maintain remains safe and secure for the children he cares for so deeply.

Kathy and Terry W.
Smith Center, KS

Kathy and Terry have been living in their home since 2012, officially purchasing it through a rent-to-own agreement in 2019. Unfortunately, the house was uninsurable due to its condition, and they have struggled to make the necessary repairs, especially to the roof. Terry is a dedicated truck driver, often away from his family for weeks at a time, making it difficult for them to address these critical issues.

With Terry frequently on the road, the worry about the roof worsening while he's away weighs heavily on Kathy. They also share their home with Pouncer, their 13-year-old dog, who wants nothing more than to keep his family safe. The roof is in dire need of replacement, and it would mean the world to them to have this taken care of.

Pouncer hopes you’ll consider voting for their family to receive a new roof, ensuring their home remains secure and giving them peace of mind while Terry is away. Your support would make a tremendous difference for this hardworking family.

Kimberly C.
Independence, MO

Kimber, a 65-year-old disabled woman with multiple medical issues, has been struggling with major roofing problems for the past year. With an annual income of only $19K, she has been forced to take matters into her own hands, despite the risks to her health and safety. Kimber has even climbed onto her roof to patch leaks and tarp it herself, determined to protect the home she has cherished for 18 years. Unfortunately, her insurance company denied her claim, and each storm brings more leaks, causing damage to her ceilings, including her kitchen light.

Kimber has received three bids for the necessary repairs, but the cost, up to $12K, is far beyond her reach. Roofing companies have advised that the entire roof and some decking need to be replaced, and it's possible that issues with the original installation, done eight years ago, have contributed to the current problems.

Despite her challenges, Kimber continues to care for injured and lost animals in her area, a testament to her caring nature. She loves her home and is committed to maintaining it, hoping to remain there for many years to come. A new roof would be an incredible relief for her, allowing her to focus on her health and continue caring for the animals and home she loves so dearly.

Mallory T.
Blue Springs, MO

Mallory is an incredibly hardworking individual who is dedicated to her family. She not only cares for her own two children but has recently opened her home to two of her nieces on her husband's side, ensuring they have a safe and loving place to stay. With so many people depending on her, providing a secure and stable home is essential.

Nominating Mallory for a new roof would help ensure that she can continue to keep all of them sheltered and protected. A new roof would relieve some of the burden she carries and allow her to focus on what she does best—caring for her family. Mallory truly deserves this support, and a new roof would be a meaningful way to show appreciation for all she does.

Marcia R.
St. Charles, MO

Marcia Russo is an incredible woman with a heart of gold, but she is in urgent need of financial help. Marcia has been unable to work and has been on disability since 2002 due to severe health issues, including Spina Bifida, Graves' disease, lupus, and severe arthritis. Despite her own struggles, Marcia has dedicated the past 14 years to caring for her blind boyfriend and his 86-year-old father, who suffers from dementia. She tirelessly gets them to their doctor appointments, does their shopping, and prepares their meals, all while trying to maintain her own home.

Unfortunately, Marcia's roof is in dire need of repair, and she has been told it will not make it through another winter. The roof was damaged during a hailstorm, but her insurance company refuses to cover the cost of repairs due to the age of the roof. With only her disability income, which barely covers her basic expenses, Marcia is unable to afford the necessary repairs. She has already sold most of her valuable possessions and is worried that she may have to sell her home, the last thing she has left, if she cannot get the roof fixed.

Marcia's health is deteriorating under the stress of her situation. She has lost her central air and is struggling to keep up with the demands of caring for her boyfriend and his father. Despite her incredible efforts, she is reaching her limits and fears that the roof may collapse, causing further damage to her home.

Marcia has reached out to various agencies for help, but the red tape and delays have left her without the support she desperately needs. A new roof would provide Marcia with the relief she so urgently needs, allowing her to continue caring for her loved ones and maintain her home. After all she has done for others, Marcia truly deserves this support to help ease the burden she carries every day.

Marissa P.
Gladstone, MO

I nominate Marissa for a new roof because she exemplifies selflessness, dedication, and hard work. Marissa has always put others before herself, spending years working while putting herself through college full-time to help individuals with heart problems. She graduated at the top of her class and started her career at a Level 1 trauma hospital during the peak of COVID-19, tirelessly caring for patients in ICU rooms, often dressed in full protective gear. Today, she continues her work, caring for both elderly patients and young children with congenital heart defects.

Despite working two jobs, Marissa had to settle for a fixer-upper house close to her job, where she is often on call for cardiac emergencies. Even after grueling shifts, she comes home and spends her free time painting and fixing up her house to make it feel like a home. She taught herself how to make repairs through research and YouTube, showcasing her incredible willpower and determination. However, her student loan payments make it difficult to afford the necessary improvements, and her roof now leaks in both the kitchen and living room, causing significant interior damage to the space she worked so hard to remodel.

Marissa has fought with her insurance company multiple times, but they refuse to cover the roof repair. This ongoing struggle has left her feeling like she's constantly taking one step forward and two steps back. Despite her efforts, the mounting bills and the unfinished state of her home make her worry about being able to provide a good life for the children she dreams of having someday.

Marissa is truly an inspiration, always putting the needs of others before her own. A new roof would help alleviate some of the immense pressure she faces, allowing her to continue focusing on her career, her home, and her future. Please consider helping Marissa get the new roof she desperately needs.

Michael & Cricket W.
O'Fallon, MO

As retirees, we are living on a fixed income and recently faced a significant setback when our insurance claim for roof repair was denied due to the age of the roof. Unfortunately, we simply can't afford to replace the roof ourselves. This situation has left us in a difficult position, as we worry about the safety and security of our home. A new roof would provide us with much-needed peace of mind and allow us to enjoy our retirement without the burden of worrying about our home's condition. We are hoping for some assistance to help us through this challenging time.

Myranda A.
Raytown, MO

Myranda is a young and hardworking homeowner who has shown incredible determination and resilience. At just 19 years old, she purchased her first home by herself, with the help of an FHA loan. Over the past five years, she has worked tirelessly to provide for herself and her two beloved dogs. While she was able to make cosmetic improvements to her home, a new roof was beyond her budget.

Myranda is the kind of person who takes on every challenge with grace and a positive attitude. Whether at work, in school, or in her personal life, she always strives to make a positive impact on those around her. She’s known for lending a helping hand whenever it’s needed and for maintaining a strong, determined spirit, even in the face of life’s obstacles.

As a single young woman trying to establish her career while managing the responsibilities of homeownership, Myranda could greatly benefit from the support of a new roof. Her dedication, hard work, and resilience make her a deserving candidate for this assistance, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this opportunity.

Nina D.
Blackwell, OK

Nina is a devoted mother of three young children—a girl aged 8, a boy aged 7, and another girl aged 5. Her husband works as a cook at a casino, and despite his own challenges, including a metal rod in his leg from a broken femur, he works hard to provide for their family. Nina herself suffers from a brain injury that has left her with short-term memory loss, making it difficult for her to work or drive. She is currently trying to get on disability to help support her family.

The family's living situation is difficult. They live in a house that was once a church, and it has serious roof issues. There are two significant leaks, one in the bathroom and another in the hallway. The hallway leak is especially severe, turning into a waterfall during heavy rains. The leaks have been a problem since they moved in, but they were unaware of the extent until the fall rains began. Water floods the hallway and bathroom, and despite their best efforts to temporarily board up the leaks, the problem persists.

The hallway leak is so bad that Nina's husband had to stuff foam into the ceiling to try to stop the water, but it continues to pour in, filling plastic containers they have placed to catch the water. To make matters worse, birds have started coming into the house through the bathroom air vent, which is connected to the outside through the roof.

With only one income and mounting challenges, Nina and her family are struggling to manage the situation. They desperately need a new roof to provide a safe and secure home for their young children. Despite their best efforts, the ongoing leaks and damage are overwhelming. Nina is seeking help to repair their roof so they can focus on raising their children in a safe and healthy environment.

Paradise Outfitters Ministry
Oak Grove, MO

This church is a true embodiment of love—love for God, love for the community, and love for each other. I have been attending this church for the past three years, and in that time, I have experienced nothing but acceptance, warmth, and unity. The congregation welcomes everyone, from farmers and ranchers to those simply trying to make ends meet. The church's outreach is remarkable, offering a unique vacation Bible school in the form of a children's fishing camp, where many kids catch their first fish. They also work tirelessly with groups to rescue women and children from human trafficking and host an annual wild game supper for over 1,000 people, relying entirely on member food donations and volunteers.

Despite all the good they do, this church is facing a significant challenge. During the last storms, I saw firsthand how badly the roof needs replacing, with buckets set out in every area of the church to catch dripping rainwater. I vividly remember one Sunday when a drop of water fell near a woman during the sermon. Her teenage son, noticing her discomfort, immediately took off his ball cap and placed it on her head so she could focus on the message—a testament to the kind and thoughtful spirit that fills this place.

This church is more than just a building; it's a cornerstone of the community. A new roof would allow them to continue their incredible work without the distraction and damage caused by the leaking roof. Please consider this deserving church for a new roof so they can keep spreading love and making a difference in so many lives.

Pat O.
Nixa, MO

Pat O'Neil is a proud U.S. Army veteran who served his country during the Korean War, returning home as a disabled veteran. Over the years, he has continued to serve his nation and community in countless ways, always giving back with humility and dedication. Recently, Pat’s old roof suffered damage from a fallen tree on the back slope, but when his insurance company refused to cover the replacement, he simply accepted it with his characteristic humble attitude.

Pat mentioned that given his age, he didn't want to pursue the insurance company any further, despite the significant need for a new roof. However, we believe that Pat deserves much more than just acceptance—he deserves support and recognition for all he has done.

We hope everyone can take a moment to vote for Mr. Pat, as he is truly deserving of a new roof. It would be a fitting way to honor his service and ensure that he can live comfortably and safely in his home. Let’s come together to give back to a man who has given so much.

Robbin H.
Blue Springs, MO

Robbin's story is one of resilience and strength, but she now faces a significant challenge with her home. After her insurance company inspected her roof, she received a letter stating that they wouldn't cover the roof due to its age and condition—25 years old and beyond repair. The only option left for Robbin was to pay out of pocket for a new roof. However, shortly after receiving this news, Robbin was diagnosed with breast cancer. She bravely underwent surgery and radiation, and today, she is thankfully cancer-free.

Despite overcoming this major health battle, Robbin now faces substantial medical bills, making it impossible to afford a new roof. Her current roof has numerous missing shingles and is beyond repair, leaving her in a precarious situation. Robbin would be an ideal candidate for the Covers4Others program, as a new roof would provide her with much-needed relief and allow her to focus on her recovery without the additional burden of home repairs.

Sandra S.
Peculiar, MO

This is a 78-year-old woman living on a fixed income who is facing several health issues. She is in desperate need of a new roof but has no knowledge of the roofing process. Her home, likely built in the 1970s, still has its original roof, which has never been replaced. The aging roof is in critical condition, and she lacks the financial resources and expertise to address the problem. A new roof would provide her with the security and peace of mind she desperately needs, allowing her to focus on her health and well-being without the worry of further damage to her home.

Terri C.
Hosington, KS

This nominee has faced significant challenges, with hail damage to her roof not being covered by insurance. Unfortunately, she does not have the financial means to replace the roof. A dedicated hospice nurse, she has given so much to her community, providing comfort and care to those in need. In 2022, her son suffered a serious fall, and she has been focused on remodeling and reroofing a house to make it wheelchair accessible for him. This has left her with no funds to address the issues with her own home. Her roof is leaking in both the closet and on the porch, adding to the stress and difficulties she is already enduring.

Despite the long and challenging road she's been on, she continues to put others before herself, especially her son. A new roof would not only relieve her of this pressing concern but also allow her to continue supporting her son without the added burden of worrying about her own home. She is truly deserving of this assistance.

Tim A.
O'fallon, MO

Kenny Lee tragically lost his life on October 26, 2022, when his paraglider went down in the Missouri River. Despite the efforts of his family, Kenny's body was never recovered, leaving his loved ones in a state of grief and uncertainty. Kenny left behind his daughter, who has now lost both of her parents—her mother passed away when she was just three years old. The family is doing everything they can to hold onto Kenny’s home, the place where his daughter grew up and which represents a vital connection to her father.

Kenny's brother, Tim Adams, has moved into the home to help with the bills and maintain the property. However, the home was severely damaged by near baseball-sized hail, which destroyed the roof, gutters, and other parts of the property. Unfortunately, the family’s insurance company has denied their claim for the roof repairs, citing the need for a death certificate, which the state will not issue until five years have passed since Kenny’s accident.

The family has exhausted all their resources in their efforts to search for Kenny and now faces the heartbreaking possibility of losing his home due to the inability to repair the roof. This home is meant to be passed down to Kenny’s now 17-year-old daughter, who deserves to have this piece of her father’s legacy preserved.

Kenny’s parents, who are living on Social Security, are taking care of his daughter, but they are unable to afford the necessary repairs. The roof has been damaged by the hail, and without immediate action, the house will start to deteriorate, jeopardizing the only physical connection Kenny's daughter has left to her father.

This family has been through an unimaginable tragedy, and providing them with a new roof would be a beacon of hope in their dark time. It would ensure that Kenny’s daughter has a secure home and a lasting connection to her father. This family is truly deserving of the support, and a new roof would bring some much-needed light into their lives.

Tim and Nanette B.
Jamesport, MO

Nan and Tim are the loving parents of six children and grandparents to fifteen, and they have spent their entire lives working hard to provide not only for their own family but also for any child who needed love, support, and a good meal. Their generosity extends far beyond their family, as they tirelessly give back to their community in countless ways. Now at retirement age, they had hoped to enjoy more time with their family, but their plans have been drastically altered due to Tim's serious heart condition, which has severely impacted his ability to work.

The challenges of providing on a limited income have become even more difficult in this current economy. Nan, despite being at retirement age, works two jobs to make ends meet, but a new roof has been added to their growing list of expenses, which already includes significant medical bills. The burden of maintaining their home has become overwhelming, especially with the added strain of Tim's health issues.

This kind and loving couple would be incredibly grateful to have this major project—replacing their roof—taken off their shoulders. It would not only provide them with safety and peace of mind but also allow them to spend more time with their precious grandchildren and focus on staying healthy. Nan and Tim have poured so much love and care into their home, and receiving this assistance would allow them to continue their independence and healing in the place they have worked so hard to maintain. Please consider helping them through this challenging time, allowing them to enjoy the retirement and family time they so deserve.

Tracy Bosley
Greenwood, MO

Tracy, the founder of Moggy’s Refuge rescue in Lee’s Summit, has dedicated her life to helping animals and promoting the spay and neuter of pets. Through her tireless work, she has made a significant impact on the community, helping countless animals and the people who care for them. Despite all the good she does, Tracy is now facing a difficult situation at home.

As a friend of Tracy, it breaks my heart to see her house falling apart. She has given so much to others, both human and animal, and now she needs some help herself. A new roof would be a tremendous relief for her, ensuring that she has a safe and secure place to live while she continues her important work. Tracy deserves this support so she can focus on what she does best—caring for the animals and people who rely on her.

Travis H.
Salina, KS

A dedicated concrete worker in the city of Salina has spent years serving his community and now finds himself in need of help. After inheriting his grandfather’s house, where he lovingly cared for his grandmother during the last ten years of her life, he was unable to afford insurance on the home. Unfortunately, severe storms this past spring caused significant damage to the roof, leaving it in desperate need of replacement. Without insurance, the cost of repairs is out of reach, and the long-term potential for interior damage is a growing concern. This hardworking individual deeply values the home he inherited, and a new roof would not only preserve this cherished family legacy but also provide much-needed security for the future.

Vickie C.
Kansas City, MO

Vickie, my fiancé’s grandma, is a kind and selfless elderly lady who has always been there for others. She goes out of her way to help her neighbors, whether it's caring for their animals, assisting them when they're sick, or even mowing their lawns when they're going through health issues. Vickie has a heart of gold, always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Now, Vickie finds herself in need of help. Her roof is in dire need of replacement, but her limited income from social security barely covers her bills, leaving her with no extra money to fix it. Vickie has spent her life giving to others, and now she deserves some support in return. I pray she will be considered for the Covers4Others program, which would provide her with the new roof she so desperately needs.

Whitnee J.
Kansas City, MO

In 2016, my godmother passed away, leaving me her home—my childhood home—but she entrusted it to my godsister with the understanding that it would be transferred to my name. My godmother believed in the power of a promise, but sadly, my godsister has not fulfilled her commitment. Although my children and I still live in the house, I am unable to get any assistance for repairs, as everything must come out of pocket due to the house not being in my name.

I have been pleading with my godsister to transfer the house into my name, not only so I can secure a stable home for my family but also to access state assistance for critical repairs, including a new roof. Despite sending her pictures of water damage, particularly to my bedroom ceiling, she remained unconcerned. Tragically, in July 2023, the ceiling in my bedroom collapsed. I've had to screw drywall into the ceiling to cover the hole, but every time it rains, water leaks into my room.

While I am immensely grateful to have a house to come home to, I am struggling to afford the necessary repairs, especially a new roof. It’s a difficult situation, and I just wish I could find a way to get the roof fixed and secure the home my family deserves.
