SOUTHEAST VOTING

Chris and Billie Jean G.
Hopkinsville, KY

Chris and Billie Jean have faced more than their fair share of hardship. As a devoted stepfather, Chris has worked tirelessly to support his family—yet life continues to throw challenge after challenge their way.

From medical bills due to Billie Jean’s disability (Billie Jean is on disability because of a heart transplant)  to caring for Chris’s elderly father after the passing of his mother, the stress has mounted. Basic necessities have taken a backseat to survival. The family went over a year without hot water due to a broken water heater, faced ongoing car troubles, and struggled with HVAC issues—all while trying to make ends meet.

They continue to choose which problems to fix based on what they can afford, but the roof over their heads shouldn't have to be one of those decisions. A new roof would lift a heavy weight and give them one less thing to worry about.

Danelle L.
Apex, NC

Danelle is a single working mom of three, bravely launching her own mental health practice while managing the challenges of parenthood. After her divorce, she kept the family home to ensure her children could stay in their familiar school district—close to friends and sports teams that mean so much to them.

Financially, it’s been a struggle to maintain the home, let alone afford major repairs. While her 14-year-old son can help with smaller fixes like the garbage disposal or hot water heater, replacing the roof feels like too big a project.
With one child heading to college next year, another entering high school, and the youngest finishing middle school, Danelle is preparing for an emotional and demanding season of parenthood. The stress of an aging roof only adds to the pressure.

A new roof would bring tremendous relief, allowing her to focus on growing her practice and supporting her family without the constant worry of home repairs. It would provide security, stability, and peace of mind as she builds a future for her children.

Winning this replacement would mean less fear and more freedom to focus on what matters most—both her family and her career.
