SOUTH VOTING

Dana and Christina S.
Venice, FL
After weathering a hurricane that left their roof damaged, Dana and Christina have done everything they can to keep up with repairs. While they’ve attempted to fix the pitch themselves, the scope of the damage—combined with ongoing health issues—has made it difficult to keep up.
With medical challenges and the stress of maintaining a home that’s no longer safe from the elements, Dana and Christina are in need of extra support. They’re the kind of people who try to push through no matter what, but even the strongest need help sometimes. A new roof would ease their burdens and help restore peace of mind.

Debra S.
Bradenton, FL
Debra S. is a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and a kind soul who’s been through more than her fair share of loss. Once a cake decorator, she had to step away from the job she loved due to ongoing health issues. Just as she and her husband were preparing to enjoy their golden years, he passed away unexpectedly.
Despite her circumstances, Debra continues to look forward with hope. She recently welcomed her youngest great-grandson into the world and cherishes every moment with her growing family.
Her roof is in need of serious repair, and the cost is simply out of reach. A new roof would mean safety, comfort, and relief. Debra is someone who radiates kindness and this act of kindness would mean the world to her.

Sally F.
Rome, GA
After nearly 20 years as a stay-at-home mom, Sally faced a life-changing transition—walking away from her marriage with nothing but the most important thing: her children. Determined to build a future for her family, she rented a room for many years, working hard and saving every penny to one day buy a home of her own.
That dream finally came true with a small house she now takes great pride in—inside and out. But like so many, unexpected challenges arrived. Last October, Sally lost her job, and although she’s now back to work, the financial impact still lingers.
Recently, she discovered a leak in her roof. Patching didn’t help, so she called in a professional, who uncovered several more issues: improperly installed materials, backward boots, and missing nails in the shingles. Her insurance claim was denied due to the roof’s age, even though the problems were clearly from poor installation.
Sally's roof is 15 years into its 25-year lifespan, and despite her efforts, the repairs are out of reach. Still, she remains proud of her little home—a symbol of perseverance and love. Receiving a new roof would not only restore her home, but bring peace of mind after years of resilience.

Shirley G.
Punta Gorda, FL
Shirley is a 72-year-old woman in urgent need of a roof replacement. There’s a large gap where parts of her house connect, and she’s deeply concerned that it will begin leaking soon—if it hasn’t already.
Facing financial hardship and unable to secure a loan due to credit challenges, Shirley is doing everything she can just to get by. Recently, she also learned of a serious heart condition, adding to the stress and uncertainty she’s already carrying. Every time she manages to save a little, an emergency seems to take it away.
Shirley doesn’t know where to turn next and is asking for help. A new roof would not only protect her home, but bring her much-needed peace of mind during a very difficult time.

Wanda L.
Bluff City, TN
Wanda is a strong, independent woman who has spent her life working hard to support her two children. Now older and living with a disability, she continues to carry responsibilities on her shoulders with quiet resilience. Though she never remarried after her divorce, Wanda has remained devoted to her family and her values.
She now owns the home that once belonged to her mother—a house filled with memories and meaning. Unfortunately, the roof is in serious disrepair. With every storm, more shingles are lost, and the damage continues to grow. Wanda does not have homeowners insurance and simply cannot afford the cost of a full roof replacement.
Though she may not live in the home, she’s committed to preserving it and ensuring it remains safe and standing for her family. Replacing the roof would not only protect the structure—it would honor her mother’s memory and bring peace of mind during a stage in life when stability means everything.
Wanda has always done her best to take care of others. Now, it’s time for her to receive the care she’s given so freely.
